A Week of Mixed Fortunes
09/09/2004

The recent weeks for The Celts have been quite mixed indeed. After the disappointing thrid consecutive loss much hype has occurred over unrest within The Celts camp. Johno declared that there is no truth in these statements and that the players are all "pleased and happy with current conditions at the club, and are looking forward to winning in the near future."

Due to the lack lustre displayes recently, much criticism has arisen over the team, and rumours have been leaked that Likidis and Marco were going to be released on free's. Cicchetti and Delaney quickly came to the rescue of the two team members of The Celts and quickly crushed these 'demoralising comments" and Cicchetti accused the press of "having it in for The Celts from day one." Last weeks incident has since been cleared and Williamson was cleared of any wrong doing. He was warned however by Johno that any such displays in the future will most certainly come with a hefty punishment. Williamson's outburst last week shocked the media and fans a like, as his usually contempt and professional attitude was dismissed. Williamson has since officially apologised to the media and fans alike. Claiming he was disgusted with himself, and urged the watching children to ignore his violent conduct.

In good news, Cicchetti at a presentation during the week won "Players Player" award in a recent competition he participated in. This adds to the already impressive list of achievements which go with Cicchetti's name. Marks stated, "It is a very special award and Aaron should be proud to recieve such an award. It is a credit to him and his consistent performances. I am honoured to be able to work with a player of his calibre." Cicchetti however was much more modest "It is a very special award and I am honoured to have been chosen by my team mates as the worthy recipitant of such an award. It could not have been able however without the exceptional quality of players which played with me throughout the competition."

Cicchetti stated he hopes that this will give him the confidence to boost him to display the performances which won him the award in the first place. Street has voiced his confidence in the team notching their first win this week, as everyone has been "training very hard and look sharp." The fans of The Celts are sure to be praying that Street is correct.
